The Los Angeles Lakers rescinded their trade for center Mark Williams at the trade deadline and their need at the position was glaring as they lost their first round series to the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games.
“JJ Redick has said it, Anthony Davis said it before he got traded, LeBron James has said it,” said Shams Charania on The Pat McAfee Show. “They needed a center and they need a big man. That’s going to be their number one focus in the offseason- going and finding a center.”
Charania said it is too early to tell whether they will explore free agency or the trade market to acquire a center.
The Lakers had Jaxson Hayes starting at center following their trade of Davis for Luka Doncic with little depth behind him. LeBron James and Rui Hachimura shared center duties for the majority of high leverage minutes.
