Luka Doncic has been away from the Los Angeles Lakers for the last two games. He was officially listed out for personal reasons, but word quickly spread that Doncic had traveled to Slovenia to be with his fiancée for the expected birth of their daughter. LeBron James and Austin Reaves led L.A. to a win in his absence, while they lost the other game that the 40-year-old sat.
Luka’s fiancée Anamaria Goltes gave birth to their second daughter, and the Lakers star took to Instagram to announce the news on Saturday morning. Olivia now joins Gabriela as the second daughter of the Doncic-Goltes family.
And quickly after Doncic’s celebratory post, James was one of the first to leave a congratulatory comment, via Luka Updates on X:

There have been some unnecessary rumors throughout the early part of this season that perhaps James is unhappy with his role on the Lakers or the way the organization has handled his contract situation after the acquisition of Doncic. Of course, none of this was based in fact, and the relationship between the two superstars looks to be as strong as ever.
Luka has already rejoined the Lakers and is expected to play on Sunday against the Philadelphia 76ers, and LeBron was certainly happy to have a teammate and friend back who just got to welcome his second child in the world, a feeling James knows very well.
LeBron James shows love to former baby Lakers
LeBron James may be finally slowing down in Year 23, but he still finds a way to make the big play when it matters most.
For example, James had a rough night shooting the basketball against the Toronto Raptors but he was a key figure in the win as he delivered a perfect pass to Rui Hachimura in the corner who hit the game-winning 3-pointer. James has always prided himself on making the right play, and he did so in that situation despite his historic double-digit scoring streak coming to an end.
LeBron emphasized after the game that he had no negative feelings about his streak being broken, showing that he truly only cares about winning basketball games.
On the other side of the matchup was Brandon Ingram, who scored 20 points against his former team. James shared a season with Ingram in Los Angeles and had high praise for the Toronto star and his other former Baby Lakers teammates.
