The Los Angeles Lakers could use some additional frontcourt depth behind Anthony Davis and Jaxson Hayes. The Lakers are hopeful that will come in the form of Jarred Vanderbilt when the regular season starts.
Vanderbilt is still ramping up after having double foot surgery in the offseason. But Lakers coach JJ Redick said the veteran forward is working towards a return for the start of the regular season.
“He’s following our ramp-up protocol,” Redick said. “He has not done any contact work. He has not participated in any non-contact practice. But we’re still trying to target the beginning of the season. Our ramp-up process, we’re on, sort of, target. So it remains to be seen if he’ll be available. But no setbacks. And he just continues to work his way back.”
