JJ Redick's Profanity-Laced Rant Caught On Camera During Lakers Win

Meet The Wife Of Lakers Coach J.J. Redick (1:08)

The Los Angeles Lakers tied up their playoff series with the Memphis Grizzlies last night, winning 94-85 in Game 2. Every Lakers fan at the Crypto.com Arena was pumped but few were more amped up than head coach JJ Redick.

During the third quarter of Game 2, with the Lakers leading 62-51, Redick briefly lost his head while trying to set up an inbounds play. As he called a timeout, he started going on a profanity-laced tirade:

“Timeout! What the (expletive) is going on?” Redick said first.

He then continued, “Jesus (expletive) Christ. What the (expletive) are you guys doing? Come on.”

Video of the brief but powerful tirade has been circulating since yesterday. Hoop Digest’s version has over a half-million views and nearly 5,000 likes.

As you might expect, NBA fans were delighted to see Redick lose his mind on the sideline:

“(That’s) How I talk to my golf ball when it’s headed 20 yards into the woods,” one user joked.

“Lakers went on 7-0 run after this timeout so it worked,” joked another.

“that’s my coach lmao.”

“I love my head coach.”

After the game, Redick explained what happened, saying that he was just trying to get everyone “on the same page” in the moment.

“When we were organized in the right spots, I thought we ran some good stuff,” Redick said. “I thought we missed some open 3. (Austin Reaves) got some great looks. Other than some disorganized plays, we played good offense tonight. As a coach, you can see it coming when the other side of that is on the horizon, and it was building, so I just wanted to make sure everyone was on the same page.”

LeBron James saw it a bit differently:

“We understand JJ is going to spaz out from time to time,” the NBA all-time scoring leader remarked.

LeBron and Luka Doncic both enjoyed double-doubles last night with Luka leading the team with 31 points and 12 rebounds, while LeBron had 21 points and 11 rebounds. Luka was one assist short of a triple-double with nine.

The Lakers and Grizzlies are now tie din the series 1-1.
