JJ Redick praised Max Christie following the Los Angeles Lakers’ preseason loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.
“Max is an old soul. He’s wise and he’s mature and he takes this very seriously … he’s gonna be very valuable for us this year,” said Redick after the game.
The 21-year-old signed a four-year, $32 million deal over this offseason.
Redick is also relying on Christie to contribute on the defensive end this season.
“He’s asked me to be kind of that dog on defense, pick up full-court. I tried to do a little bit of that tonight. There’s a comfort level that I’m going to get a little bit more comfortable with,” said Christie.
