JJ Redick formally interviewed for the Los Angeles Lakers head coach position on Saturday. Redick met with several members of the Lakers over the course of the day.
Despite Saturday being Redick’s formal interview, he reportedly has had several conversations with Lakers GM Rob Pelinka since previous head coach Darvin Ham was fired. The Lakers considered a wide-range candidates, including making an offer to UConn coach Dan Hurly, before circling back to Redick.
If Redick is being hired by the Lakers, it’s been speculated that Los Angeles will wait to do so until the NBA Finals are over. Redick part of ESPN/ABC’s broadcast team. The Boston Celtics have a 3-1 lead and could close out the series in Boston on Monday.
