Jason Whitlock has chosen to make Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James his new target for scorn for the foreseeable future but may have gone a little too far in his assessment of LeBron James Jr.
On a recent episode of his show, Whitlock declared that LeBron James “has turned his son into the Make-A-Wish kid” with how out of place Bronny looked. The Make-A-Wish Foundation, for those who don’t know, is a charity that helps fulfill the wishes of seriously ill children.
“Bronny James looked out of place at his Summer League debut. LeBron James has turned his son into the Make-A-Wish kid, and everybody in the media is going to play along,” Whitlock wrote on X.
While plenty of fans found that comparison hilarious, many more found it absolutely deplorable:
“To take time out of your day and talk (expletive) about a 19 year old kid who is just trying to figure things out speaks on the character you lack and the deplorable human being you’ve become,” one user wrote.
“LeBron is living every dad’s dream – Playing a professional sport with their kid…. Maybe he doesn’t deserve to be there, but LeBron sure as (expletive) earned the right to have this pull. Suck it up and move on,” wrote another.
“Why aren’t people this vocal over Thanasis Antetokoumpo being in the league?” a third pointed out.
When Jason Whitlock has a target in his sights, no comparison is too harsh or too mean to be used against them.
