Los Angeles Lakers fans may want to start saving money for NBA Finals tickets. We might be exaggerating, but there’s reason to believe this team could make a deep playoff run.
After defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves in their season opener, the Lakers hosted the Phoenix Suns on Friday night. Despite trailing by as many as 22 points in the second quarter, LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves managed to orchestrate a brilliant comeback in Los Angeles.
While it may be considered foolish to rave about a 2-0 start to the season, it’s worth noting that history is on the Lakers’ side in this situation.
Believe it or not, LeBron James has reached the NBA Finals every season that his team has started off 2-0. Do whatever you please with that information.

Obviously, the Lakers will need to stay healthy if they want to make a run to the NBA Finals this season. That being said, it’s very apparent that JJ Redick has improved the team’s offensive game-planning.
As for James, he can still perform at an elite level when needed. For example, he scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half of last night’s game.
We can’t mention James’ success without bringing up what Anthony Davis has done so far this season. He’s averaging 35.5 points per game for Los Angeles.
Next up for the Lakers is a showdown with the Sacramento Kings. It’ll be their final home game before they go on a road trip. They’ll return to Los Angeles on Nov. 8.
