Stop us if you’ve heard this before: Jason Whitlock is getting crushed on social media for making an unnecessary comment. This time around, it has to do with his commentary on Bronny James.
Whitlock made it abundantly clear that he wasn’t impressed by Bronny’s Summer League debut. The second-round pick for the Los Angeles Lakers scored four points on 2-for-9 shooting from the field.
Instead of questioning Bronny’s future in the NBA with some compassion, Whitlock decided to call him a “Make-A-Wish kid.” The former FOX Sports personality made this comment on his show, “Fearless with Jason Whitlock.”
“Bronny James looked out of place at his Summer League debut. LeBron James has turned his son into the Make-A-Wish kid, and everybody in the media is going to play along,” Whitlock said.
It didn’t take long for NBA fans to crush Whitlock for being so harsh.
“Jason Whitlock never appears on my timeline with something positive to say,” one fan wrote on X.
Another fan said, “You really gone do this to a 19 year old kid? This is what you gone use your platform to do?”
“Calling him a make a wish kid is disgusting,” a third fan replied.

Whitlock has crossed the line plenty of times with his commentary, so on one hand, we’re not surprised by these remarks. That doesn’t make it OK, though.
If Whitlock wants to criticize LeBron James and the Lakers, he should do so without mocking the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
