Despite having just one late second round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, the Lakers are still doing their due diligence when it comes to prospects.
The final piece of the Anthony Davis trade with the Pelicans will be conveyed this season as the Lakers’ first round pick will head to Atlanta after New Orleans dealt it for Dejounte Murray.
As a result, LA will have just its own second round pick in this season’s draft. And after their late-season surge to the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, their pick will be No. 55 overall. It’s a familiar spot for the Lakers, as they selected Bronny James with that selection last season.
With their scouting department, the team could still find a diamond in the rough to potentially add to the team. And, as expected, they will do their due diligence, including plenty of workouts leading up to the draft and interviews at the NBA Draft Combine.
