Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic faced his former team (Dallas Mavericks) Tuesday night.
It was the first time that Doncic went against his former team since he was dealt to the Lakers in early February. Doncic put on a show, finishing with a triple-double (19 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists) in the Lakers’ 107-99 win.
LeBron James led the Lakers in scoring with 27 points and finished with 12 rebounds and three assists.
It was an awesome game but ESPN’s Jay Williams fell for a fake photo that showed Doncic looking at Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison. In the fake photo, the two are staring at one another and Williams thought it was real.

Williams was convinced it was real and tweeted about it when he saw it.
“Look at this moment—Luka’s laser-focused glare, like he’s channeling MJ. Nico is sitting there in that blue suit, which feels like it represents the Mavericks’ front office, but Luka’s stare isn’t just about the game—it’s personal. Luka’s in his own world, locked in, reminding everyone why he’s the heartbeat of Dallas. This photo’s a mic-drop moment—pure intensity, pure Doncic!” Williams tweeted.
Fans were quick to point out to Williams that the photo was fake. It’s still a great photo by whoever decided to make it. Williams will have to be a bit careful the next time he comes across a photo like that.
The Lakers improved to 35-21 after beating the Mavericks and are fourth in the Western Conference. They’re only two games behind the Memphis Grizzlies for second in the conference.
They’ll be back in action on Thursday when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves. Tip-off will be at 10:30 p.m. ET.
