Bruce Brown Jr. received free agent interest from the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns amongst others, but he was committed to returning to the Denver Nuggets. After winning a title with the Nuggets in 2023, Brown signed a two-year, $45 million contract with the Indiana Pacers, which was significantly more than what Denver was allowed to offer.
Brown subsequently was traded to the Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans where he had nowhere near the same impact as he did playing with Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets.
“I was like, ‘You know what, I don’t care how much (I get offered). If I get somewhere more, I don’t care. I’m just gonna go back to Denver because I just think it’s a perfect fit for me,'” Brown said. “Playing style, and I mean, I want to win again. So I think it was a pretty quick answer for me once I found out they wanted me back.”
Brown signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Nuggets.
