Bronny James has taken a lot of criticism as a rookie this year, but he did a very good job of showing that he can thrive in last night’s G-League game.
During yesterday’s game for the South Bay Lakers against the Valley Suns in Tempe, Arizona, Bronny had one of the best performances of his basketball career. He scored 30 points while going 13 of 23 shooting and added three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block to his stat block in what was a 106-100 loss.

NBA fans were fairly impressed by his performance, remarking that he might be reaching a point where he can really start to build a career.
“Good for him. Wishing him a great career,” one user on X remarked.
“First time I’ve thought Bronny may actually have game to be in the league. He has a ways to go, but he can ball. G league is pretty much his college and he’s come a looong way. These highlights look like he was ahead of the game,” wrote another.
“The haters ain’t gonna like this. Bronny James building that confidence he’s gonna be alright. Still young this is great experience for him! He’s gonna be a solid pro and role player in the league!” a third wrote.
Through four games with the South Bay Lakers, Bronny has been averaging 14.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. He’s missed some time due to a bone bruise that cost him several weeks of action.
The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t been too keen to use him much though. His most recent appearance was this past Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers where he had one block in three minutes on the court.
Through seven NBA games this season, he has a grand total of 18 minutes on the court with four points, two assists, one rebound, one block and one steal. Suffice it to say, JJ Redick probably doesn’t plan on adding Bronny to the starting lineup any time soon – even with some of the injuries the Lakers are currently dealing with.
Has Bronny taken a step forward in his NBA development?
