Clippers fans have been very measured in their response to games that don’t count.
The Clippers went 1-3 during the preseason, getting outscored by a total of 50 points over the team’s four games. It wasn’t exactly an inspiring showing, and there were issues with offensive execution and transition defense that popped up throughout, but there were definitely highlights depending on what you were looking for.
Still, it was hard to take too much away from an exhibition set of games when Marcus Morris Sr. and Serge Ibaka didn’t play, Paul George and Nicolas Batum missed two games apiece, and Reggie Jackson and Ivica Zubac each sat out one. That’s why it’s refreshing to see that Clippers fans haven’t put too much stock into the poor performances from the team’s preseason slate.
According to the latest SB Nation Reacts survey, when fans were asked if they felt better, the same, or worse after preseason, 90 percent of Clippers fans felt the same or better based on these four games.

That figure is right in line with the national average of NBA fans, the majority of whom are riding positive momentum into the start of the season.

It’s worth noting that the Clippers had an even worse showing in the 2020-21 preseason. They lost all three games by a combined 51 points, the worst scoring margin in the NBA. The Clippers proceeded to start the season 16-5 and advanced to the Western Conference Finals, so all’s well that ends well.
