PJ Washington came back from an ankle sprain on Sunday, but he couldn’t help the Dallas Mavericks get back to winning games. This was despite him scoring 29 points and grabbing 12 rebounds after he missed seven straight outings. The Mavs have lost three straight and are 2-8 in their last ten games. After the game, Washington delivered a message to Mavs fans.
PJ Washington Has a Message for Mavs Fans
Dallas Mavericks fans have had to endure one of the most depressing seasons in the league in 2024-25. Following the Luka Doncic trade to the Los Angeles Lakers, Mavs fans are showing their displeasure in any way possible. They even organized a fake memorial for Nico Harrison.
PJ Washington expressed his thoughts on the Fire Nico chants after the latest game against the Philadelphia 76ers. He said,
“At the end of the day, the trades happened. We understand we have a new team now. All that “Fire Nico” stuff, we’re sick & tired of hearing it. We just want to go out there and play & we need the fans to support us no matter who’s on the floor. That’s just how I feel about it.”

Mavs Fans Bully PJ Washington on Social Media
Mavs fans instantly responded to PJ Washington’s quote. Comments under the Twitter share of his quote are not that forgiving. Here are some of the more interesting ones.
-
- Unfortunately, that’s not how that works. We don’t owe you guys anything. We aren’t fans anymore your boss burnt that shit to the ground. I suggest you ask out or demand he is fired as well. Because this is only the beginning.
- PJ love you but you’ve been on the team for 1 year bud. Luka was the face of the franchise for six years before you even got here. Why don’t you get mad at your boss for making the worst trade in the history of the sport.
- I get how he’d be annoyed at fans chanting during his free throws and just the general negativity. But this is Nico’s fault. We’re going to chant fire Nico until Nico is fired. That’s just the way it’s going to be. I’m sorry to the players caught in the crossfire.
- How about don’t be so soft and take it personally? These soft assholes really think this is the path to winning back fans? How about speak up for your teammate whose character and fitness was dragged through mud by your boss. Be a man.
- Love PJ but nah. Fans need to continue doing it. This isn’t his team. It’s our cities team.
- Interesting. The job of the GM is to make your team better not worse . It’s ridiculous that someone who destroy your team to benefit lakers is still got a job. Which is why I believe he wasn’t alone . Whose to say his next decision won’t be bad too??!
- Cool, you were out for a long time because of an “ankle”. You will continue to hear it.

Former Maverick Rubbing Salt on the Wound
When it rains, it pours. Former Mavericks players are having amazing seasons after leaving the team. For example, Quentin Grimes is having an amazing season. And against his former team, Grimes had 28 points and six assists. It seems like all of the players Nico Harrison traded are playing better. And the ones he got cannot get out off the injured list.
