Before I get into what was said after the game
Let the record show
That the last 3 Clippers buckets of this game were:
– A Harden floater
– A multiple-pass sequence leading to a paint touch and dunk for Zubac
– A closeout pullup in paint for Powell
The Clippers *CLOSED* pic.x.com/jkYhHH0zoH – 11:56 PM

James Harden finally makes his first 3 of the game with 3:10 left to play.
Harden has made one in EVERY game he has played in this season.
Not a moment too late. 106-103 Clippers lead, and Grizzlies call one of their last two timeouts with 3:01 left in regulation. – 10:23 PM

That had to have been the longest third quarter ever. I am fully enthralled
Clippers lead 91-90 in an increasingly hostile territory. James Harden only 3/11 FGs, 0/4 3s. But he is 8/10 FTs for 14 points.
Grizzlies only have 36 paint points. They lead the league in that category – 9:58 PM

Crowd recognizing a great Wells defensive possession on Harden.
The effort from the rookie is relentless. He’s taking beating on these Zubac screens.
58-51 Grizz at the half. – 9:05 PM

Also, Naji Marshall just got a tech.

More on this storyline
Jordan Howenstine: Victor Wembanyama is officially faster to 200 career three-pointers than Stephen Curry, James Harden and Ray Allen (the Top 3 in threes in NBA history). -via Twitter / December 22, 2024
James Harden has passed Tim Duncan in scoring and is now No. 16 in the all-time ranking. He also moved past 7-foot-3 center Zydrunas Ilgauskas in rebounds. He’s No. 175 now. -via Bluesky / December 22, 2024
Mavericks defeat Clippers 113-97. Quentin Grimes led Dallas with 20 points on 7-for-8 shooting while Klay Thompson added 16 points with four threes. Norman Powell had 28 points for Los Angeles while James Harden had 19 points on 6-for-18 shooting. -via HoopsHype / December 21, 2024
Norman Powell on James Harden: Then there’s just his care with his body. I see him getting his workouts in, getting his treatments, being really vocal about what he needs. After games, he’s lifting and doing all the things to make sure he’s ready to lead and play every single night. I think that’s been the biggest thing. Even in the locker room—before games, during games, halftime—he’s talking about what we need to do, the adjustments we need to make, keeping everyone’s heads up on tough nights when we let games slip away or get blown out. He’s been amazing with that. That’s what we need—seeing that side of him. When you’re an opposing player, you don’t really know what goes on behind the scenes. With all the articles and narratives about him leaving Philly, you only get one side. But being in the locker room with him, talking to him—our lockers are right next to each other—I’ve seen the other side. There’s so much dialogue about the game, his approach, and what we have to do. He’s a great dude, a great teammate, and it’s been an honor to play with him on the floor and learn from someone who’s accomplished so much in this league.” -via YouTube / December 11, 2024
