Jeff Van Gundy has agreed to join Ty Lue’s staff as the Los Angeles Clippers’ lead assistant coach. Van Gundy spent the past season as an advisor with the Boston Celtics.
Van Gundy was an NBA assistant coach for seven years before becoming the head coach of the New York Knicks. After seven seasons as the Knicks head coach, Van Gundy coached the Houston Rockets for four years.
Van Gundy then spent over a decade with ESPN, eventually working as part of the network’s top broadcast team. He was let go after last season, before joining the Celtics as an advisor to both the coaching staff and the front office.
