During the LA Clippers-Oklahoma City Thunder broadcast, TNT’s Chris Haynes dropped some intel on James Harden’s mindset for his next deal. Haynes said that Harden hopes to re-sign with the Clippers on a long-term deal.
LA acquired Harden earlier this season from the Philadelphia 76ers. After an initial bumpy start, the Clippers have been one of the NBA’s best teams.
Harden is scheduled for unrestricted free agency in July. He’s not eligible to sign an extension, so re-signing with LA will have to wait until this summer. Kawhi Leonard recently said that part of his plan in taking less in his extension with the Clippers was to give the team a better opportunity to keep Harden and Paul George. It’s been reported that George is in extension discussions with the Clippers.
