In the Clippers’ first year at their brand-new home in Inglewood, the team accomplished a great deal, from having the loudest fans, known as “The Wall”, to reaching the playoffs in their inaugural season in the new arena.
The team’s most significant accomplishment this year was the Intuit Dome, which was recently awarded Sports Business Journal’s Sports Facility Of The Year.
Steve Ballmer and the rest of the Clippers’ front office are proud of what they accomplished in the Clippers organization in the team’s first year at the new arena, Intuit Dome.
Clippers owner Steve Ballmer called the Intuit Dome a “passion project” when accepting the award for Sports Facility of the Year back in May. Steve Ballmer also mentioned that the vision for building the arena and making it a reality was to be “a place for basketball fans to be basketball fans.”
Intuit Dome, the newest arena in the NBA, has the best fan experience of any other arena in the league. The 38,375-square-foot double-sized Halo Board creates 360-degree visuals that help elevate the storytelling and fan experience for all events, not just the Clippers.
Steve Ballmer also mentioned in his speech:
“Our strategy from the start was to get our fans to fill the building, be part of the energy and the heat and the passion.”
Ballmer also said, “Our fans on The Wall-51 rows of fans, uninterrupted, no break. Loud and proud student section style.”
The Clippers aim to build on their success from their inaugural season at the Intuit Dome and further enhance it next season through the NBA Draft and free agency.
There’s going to be a lot of work to do for the Clippers organization, as the team will be significantly different and more motivated as they attempt to attract top talent to join the team.
