The stringent way Draymond Green was officiated last night, fouling out, each close call in his disfavor, it’s clear the referees were whistling while they work to newly imposed league office orders… – 2:38 AM

This physical battle between Julius Randle and Draymond is fun to watch. Julius going absolutely as strong as he can every time, and he’s winning more often than a lot of guys do. – 10:52 PM

That fact might seem like a technicality to some, as Dončić is widely expected to commit to a long-term Lakers future at some point. But the Lakers learned a long time ago that star players don’t always decide to stick around, as they traded with Orlando for Dwight Howard in the summer of 2012 only to see him head to Houston in free agency a year later. And when it came to the Mavericks-Lakers trade talks that led to the deal, league and team sources say Dončić’s uncertain long-term status was the primary reason the Lakers were able to avoid giving up their 2031 first-round pick in the deal (Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first went to Dallas). -via New York Times / May 2, 2025
Sam Amick on Lakers’ offseason: They want to make sure LeBron James is happy, make sure that he really wants to be there. And like always, there’s a little bit of a never say never component. Does he think about jumping somewhere else to head off at the sunset retirement wise? Luka Doncic also has contract stuff. He’s extension eligible and everybody has assumed he’s going to sign it, but the Lakers are not gonna stop losing sleep until he does because while they got rave reviews for getting him in the trade, the one thing everybody always kind of glossed over, it was like it didn’t come with any assurances that Luka was going to be there long term. People assume he will because it’s the Lakers, but I know I’m too long of an answer, but their Dwight Howard cautionary tale back in 2013 is always something that they remember and and they certainly would like to avoid that with Luka. -via YouTube / May 1, 2025
While appearing on The Big Podcast with Shaq, the two finally cleared the air for fans, with O’Neal acknowledging what he called the elephant in the room. According to Howard, their feud really escalated after O’Neal swatted a cake—decorated with Howard’s face—off the table during an Inside the NBA segment three years ago. “You picked up my cake and just threw it on the ground. I was like ‘Hey is he really pissed off at me?’” said Howard while talking with Shaq. -via Clutch Points / April 24, 2025
