PLAYA VISTA — The Clippers held their annual preseason Media Day on Monday at the team’s practice center before heading to Las Vegas for training camp, which begins Tuesday.
All-Stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, new addition John Wall and Coach Tyronn Lue all spoke at length, explaining how they are all excited to be playing together this season.
Lue spoke about his team’s roster possibly being 11-12 deep and how playing time will be something he will have to manage throughout the season.
George shared that he believes a “Team USA” approach where everyone plays hard during their minutes and the team substitutes as necessary, could benefit the squad.
Southern California News Group columnist Mirjam Swanson and sports reporter John W. Davis shared their observations from Media Day and discussed the lofty expectations surrounding a team that finished 42-40 overall last season before losing a pair of play-in games to the Minnesota Timberwolves and the New Orleans Pelicans.
