The Clippers’ most promising draft pick this year was Yanic Konan Niederhauser.
He showed why he’s going to be valuable for the Clippers this season.
Last season, the team struggled in the backup center position, and with many teams having big players who can play multiple positions, Niederhauser can be the player who makes an impact for the Clippers this season.
Potential Talent
Even though Niederhauser has struggled so far in the summer league, he does provide potential to be valuable this season, with his most recent game coming off the win against the Lakers on Monday. Niederhauser was 5-9 from the field, with 2 rebounds and 2 steals in that game. Yanic opens the ball on the floor, which will provide key plays for Harden and Kawhi this season. Yanic will fit so well in half-court press defense for Ty Lue and the LA Clippers coaching staff this season.
The Clippers are one of eight teams that are undefeated in summer league play. For the team to have a chance of returning to the semifinals, they need those ahead of them to lose, allowing the Clippers to secure a spot in the summer league semifinals.
The Clippers’ rookies and 2-way players on the summer league roster are really putting in the work and trying to prove to the coaching staff that they belong in the NBA this season and on the Clippers’ roster.
Ty Lue will have a tough decision when filling out his roster this upcoming season.
For Clippers fans, the summer league is not only a good way to see the Clippers’ future in action, but also the stars of tomorrow play in the summer league in Vegas.
