Veteran NBA guard Chris Paul announced that he’ll retire following this season. Paul is currently playing his 21st NBA season with the LA Clippers.
Paul played the first six years of his career with the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets. He was traded to the LA Clippers ahead of the 2011-12 season, where Paul would spend the next six seasons.
Paul was then traded to the Houston Rockets, where he played for two seasons. That was followed by one season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, before being traded to the Phoenix Suns for three years. Paul then spent a season each with the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs, before returning to the Clippers for what will now be his final season.
The veteran point guard posted “Back in NC!!! What a ride…Still so much left…GRATEFUL for this last one!!” on social media ahead of the Clippers game on Saturday at the Charlotte Hornets. Paul is a native of North Carolina and played for two seasons at Wake Forest before being the fourth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft.
