Earlier this week we posted that 27-year-old right-hander Landon Knack quite possibly pitched himself out of the Dodgers 2025 Opening Day starting rotation and even off of the Dodgers 2025 Opening Day active roster. The same cannot be said of 24-year-old left-hander Justin Wrobleski, who quite possibly pitched himself into/onto both.
During Friday evening’s 6-4 Dodgers win over the Seattle Mariners at Peoria Stadium, the Johnson City, TN native and Dodgers 11th-round draft pick in 2021 out of Oklahoma State University allowed no runs and only three hits over his 3.1-inning start, his second of his four appearances and combined 9.1 innings pitched thus far this Spring.
“Each outing he’s gotten better, we’ve lengthened him out, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told SportsNet LA’s Kirsten Watson postgame. “It just seems like he’s spinning the ball better, his fastball command is getting better, his work in between starts consistently getting better, so I really think that this Spring he’s made a lot of growth.”
“It was awesome to kind of get up there and be able to make my debut and everything last year, and now it feels like it’s kind of more or less the switch flipped to, you know, pitch well now, like, let’s go be the best pitcher I can be,” Wrobleski said of his outing postgame.
To be fair, Landon Knack will probably get at least one more opportunity (possibly two) to make the Dodgers Opening Day starting rotation and active roster.
