The final day of the 2025 Major League Draft concluded with the Dodgers selecting 12 pitchers in their final 17 selections on Monday.
College ballplayers dominated the Dodgers’ selections as 18 of their 21 picks were from the college ranks. They selected 10 right-handed pitchers, four left-handers, three outfielders, two catchers and one shortstop.
University of Arkansas standouts pitcher Zach Root (first round) and outfielder Charles Davalan (CB-A round) headlined the Dodgers’ first two picks on Sunday. Pitcher Cam Leiter (second round) and outfielder Landyn Vidourek (third round) wrapped up Day 1 of the draft.
The Dodgers started Day 2 by selecting shortstop Aidan West in the fourth round out of Long Reach High School in Maryland. He was the first high school player they selected in the draft and one of the youngest at 18 years old.
West, who committed to North Carolina State, was scouted as an above-average runner with a 55-grade run.
He was ranked as the 123rd overall player in the draft by MLB.com. West was also ranked as Maryland’s top shortstop by Perfect Game USA.

Outfielder Mason Ligenza was the second non-college player selected by the Dodgers. The 18-year-old Pittsburgh commit was taken in the sixth round. He slashed .448/.644/1.086 in his senior year with 11 home runs, 16 RBI and 27 stolen bases.
Seventh-round pick right-hander Mason Estrada had a 2.21 ERA in 10 starts for Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) during his sophomore season in 2025.
The Dodgers selected Kansas State left-hander Jacob Frost in the 10th round. The 6-foot-4 southpaw pitched 66 1/3 innings for the Wildcats and struck out 75 batters.

Outfielder AJ Soldra was the Dodgers’ 16th-round pick after they selected six consecutive pitchers. The 21-year-old batted .300 with 28 RBI and 30 walks in 54 games in 2025.
The Dodgers selected right-hander Sam Horn in the 17th round out of the University of Missouri. Horn was ranked as the 128th overall pick in the draft by MLB.com — this is their scouting report on him: “Horn creates quality extension with his 6-foot-4 frame and athletic delivery, providing deception with a low arm slot and release height. He’s still refining his control and command after working just 15 innings in three college seasons, but they should become average as he gains more experience.”
Left-hander Shane Brinham was the final pick of the draft in the 20th round, and the youngest by the Dodgers at 17 years old. The Michigan commit was ranked as the №1 left-hander out of British Columbia, Canada, according to Perfect Game USA.
The signing deadline for this year’s draft picks is July 28.
