The best word to describe the penultimate game of the season between the Dodgers and the Cubs is wild.
After the Dodgers erased a three-run deficit, they were one out away from securing their 10th comeback win of the season. But Miguel Amaya’s score-tying homer against Tanner Scott in the bottom of the ninth inning changed the game. The Dodgers had a 96%-win probability, according to Statcast, before Amaya’s home run.
The Dodgers lost 11–10 to the Cubs in 10 innings on Tuesday. It was the first game this season the Dodgers scored 10 runs in a game.
“It’s frustrating,” said manager Dave Roberts of the extra-inning loss. “Some guys had some big nights, which was great, but there’s still some things situationally that I just didn’t think that we had good at-bats with runners in scoring position. We had (Cubs starter Shota) Imanaga on the ropes early. We still put up 10 runs and (I) wish that we got a win.”
The Dodgers opened the game with a three-run first inning against Imanaga. Tommy Edman put the Dodgers on the board with his eighth homer of the season. It tied him with San Diego’s Fernando Tatis for the National League lead.

But the Dodgers quickly found themselves fighting back when the Cubs scored five runs against Dustin May in the first and another two in the fifth. The seven earned runs allowed by May set a career-high for the right-hander.
The Dodgers’ five-run fifth inning gave them a 10–7 lead. Four of the Dodgers’ five runs were scored without them making an out.
But the Dodger bullpen couldn’t hold the lead, allowing four runs in the final four innings in the Cubs’ walk-off win.
Six Dodger relievers combined for four innings, seven hits, four runs, three earned runs, one walk and seven strikeouts.
The Pages and Edman Impact
Andy Pages and Edman, though, were impact players on Tuesday.
Pages has had offensive and defensive challenges through the first 20 games this season. But things came together for him on both sides against the Cubs in his 21st game.
His homer against Imanaga in the second inning was his first against a left-handed pitcher this season. Pages went 2-for-4 with one RBI on Tuesday.

He also prevented a run from scoring in the sixth, which kept the Dodgers within striking distance of a comeback. He threw out Ian Happ, who tagged up from third on a fly out, at the plate after he fired a 97.7-mph throw to Will Smith. It completed the double play and ended the inning.
“It was a big play,” Roberts said. “But it kept us in the ballgame. It was a big out, a big double play ball.”

Pages owns seven of the Dodgers’ 10 fastest throws from the outfield this season. His throw from left field in the sixth on Tuesday is his second-fastest throw in 2025. He had a 98.3-mph throw on April 15 against the Rockies.
Edman went 2-for-4 with four RBI against the Cubs. He leads the Dodgers with 19 RBI and 25 hits this season.
Kershaw’s Second Rehab Outing

Clayton Kershaw pitched three innings in a rehab assignment with Double-A Tulsa on Tuesday. He gave up four hits, one earned run, one walk and struck out four.
Kershaw threw 60 pitches and landed 33 strikes as he faced 15 batters.
This was Kershaw’s second rehab assignment since being placed on the 60-day injured list on March 18. He pitched three scoreless innings for Triple-A Oklahoma City on April 16.
