If you are not onboard the Tommy Edman band wagon by now, there’s a pretty good chance that you never will be.
For the sixth time in his (thus far) seven-year MLB career, the extremely popular Pontiac, MI native and second-year Dodger delivered a game-winning hit, this one a perfectly placed single down the right field line in the bottom of the 10th inning to break a 6-6 tie with the Miami Marlins in front of a Dodger Stadium crowd of 48,232 on Monday night.
“Just trying to stay locked in. I mean, I saw the game getting close to the end and knew I was going to get an opportunity to do something, so I just had to stay locked in,” Edman, who entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the eighth, told SportsNet LA’s David Vassegh after his exciting 10th-inning walk-off hit.

“To score late, Tommy with that big hit was huge, Andy with that big at-bat,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said postgame.
That “…Andy with that big at-bat” was Andy Pages‘ five-pitch walk to lead off the bottom of the 10th inning with Dodgers left fielder Michael Conforto the placed runner on second base and Roberts’ team down 6-5. The pair advanced 90 feet on a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt by Dodgers fan-favorite Kiké Hernández, with both coming around to score on Edman’s game-tying – and game-winning – single.
