We were all taught at a very young age that our beloved National Pastime is a “team sport.” In Monday’s 7-0 shutout of the National League Central third-place Cincinnati Reds by the National League West first-place Los Angeles Dodgers in front of a Dodger Stadium crowd 47,702, Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages proved to be the best “team player” his teammates could possibly hope for.
All the extremely popular La Habana, Cuba native (who the Dodgers signed as a free agent on March 1, 2018) did was go 2-for-3, score two of those seven Dodges runs, drive in four of them, and be responsible for five of them:

Pages’ first home run on Monday came on a 91.1-MPH slider from Reds right-hander Hunter Greene – a 392-foot solo shot into the Dodgers’ left field bullpen – to make it 1-0 good guys, and his second – a 362-footer into the left field corner – on a (wait for it…) 90.5-MPH slider from Green – (you’d think he’d learn).
For good measure, Pages also reached base in the bottom of the sixth on a fielding error by Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz and advanced to second on a subsequent throwing error by Reds left fielder Austin Hays.

“Ah, man, what a performance by Andy,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said postgame. “And, um, you know, (Reds right-hander) Hunter (Greene) is, you know, he’s… he’s one of the better pitchers in baseball and certainly the National League. It’s high-octane stuff and, um, you know, Andy had a huge night,” Roberts added.

Keep being a “team player” in this “team sport,” Andy!
