Now it was Blake Snell’s turn to take part in the Dodgers’ starter dominance.
Snell’s version looked a little different from his three teammates who flirted with no-hitters over the last four days. Snell allowed a hit in the third inning and two hits in the game. His six shutout innings against the Rockies included a season-high 11 strikeouts.
One of his best starts of the season also led to a series sweep over the Rockies. The Dodgers beat Colorado 9–0 in the series finale. It was also another game where Mookie Betts’ resurgent offense made an impact.
Betts led the offense with five RBI in a 4-for-5 night at the plate. His seventh career grand slam broke the game open in the eighth, giving the Dodgers an 8–0 lead at the time.

The Dodgers have now won four consecutive games.
Dodger starters have combined for 38 innings, 13 hits, five runs, nine walks and 54 strikeouts in the last six games. They’ve posted a 1.18 ERA, 0.58 WHIP and 12.8 strikeout-per-nine-innings ratio in that span.
“(We) wanted to finish the series off the right way,” said manager Dave Roberts. “Blake set the tone tonight. The starting pitching has been fantastic(and) building that four-run (second) inning was huge.
“Pitch count got up there a little bit, but for him to find a way to get through six (innings) was fantastic. It was much needed.”
This was Snell’s 37th career start with at least six innings pitched without allowing a run. It’s also the same number of games that he’s recorded double-digit strikeouts in his career.
Snell’s command was the best it’s been all season. His 22 swings and misses against the Rockies were a season high and the second most by a Dodger starter in 2025.
His previous season mark was 19 whiffs against the Rays on Aug.2.
Snell’s fastball and curveball supported him in his third scoreless start of the season. While his four-seamer induced 20 called strikes and whiffs, his curveball recorded five of his 11 strikeouts.

“This week’s been fun. I was definitely thinking about it, like ‘Dang, the guys have been throwing no-no’s,’” Snell said of the rotation. “But it’s fun. It’s internal competition and you’re excited for everyone and their success and want to add to it. I was happy I could do that.”
About 15 minutes before the game’s first pitch, the Dodger battery was switched up. Will Smith was the initial starting catcher but was scratched from the lineup due to swelling in his right hand.
Ben Rortvedt replaced Smith behind the plate. It was the first time the catcher saw Snell’s pitches in that capacity.
“He didn’t even catch me in a bullpen. The first couple of pitches as I was warming up (was the first),” Snell said. “But we started to figure each other out and learning as the game went on. I got a lot better as the game went on.”
The Rockies went 2-for-20 against Snell on Wednesday. Opposing teams are now hitting .104 (13-for-125) against Dodger starters in this six-game stretch.
On the offensive side, Betts is 15-for-39 with four home runs and 15 RBI this month.
“We’re having good team at-bats up and down the lineup,” Betts said. “For a little while we were having some bad at-bats, but at least now we’re having good at-bats, extending innings and finding ways to manufacture runs.”

Andy Pages contributed with three hits, while Miguel Rojas went 2-for-4 and Teoscar Hernández homered for the third time in two games.
The Dodgers travel to San Francisco for a three-game series against the Giants beginning Friday. Their lead in the National League West increased to three games with the Padres losing 2–1 to the Reds.
