Snapshots: Dodgers rise to first place after high-five win streak at home

By Mark Langill
It remained home sweet home for the Dodgers on April 25–30 when Los Angeles hosted the Pittsburgh Pirates and Miami Marlins. After dropping the opener against Pirates’ ace Paul Skenes, the Dodgers finished with a five-game winning streak, improving their Dodger Stadium record to 15–3 in 2025.
The homestand included two statistical rarities — the second time in Dodger Stadium history the Dodgers scored seven or more runs on five consecutive calendar days (April 26–30). The 12–7 victory in the April 30 finale marked the second time in history that Los Angeles had three triples in a game at Dodger Stadium.

On short notice, Ben Casparius picked up the team with 3 2/3 scoreless innings in Sunday’s Dodgers’ 7–3 victory.

On April 18, the Marlins overcame a 5–0 deficit with five runs in the sixth inning. Miami took a 6–5 lead in the 10th inning, but the Dodgers rallied. After Pages drew a walk, Kike Hernandez hit a sacrifice bunt to put runners on second and third. Edman singled to right field for the game winner.

Left-hander Jack Dreyer made his first Major League start on April 29 as the Dodgers used a bullpen game against the Marlins. The Dodgers scored seven runs in 2 2/3 innings off Miami starter Sandy Alcantara during a 15–2 victory. After Dreyer’s appearance, Matt Sauer allowed one run on five hits in five innings to earn his first Major League victory.
