Shohei Ohtani has found a new hobby in his spare time— writing.
Ohtani took to social media to announce that he, alongside co-author Michael Blank, will be releasing a children’s book centered around his dog, Decoy, titled “Decoy Saves Opening Day.” The story sees Decoy in a dilemma when he forgets his lucky ball at home, and must make it back in time for the start of opening day.
The book is currently available for preorder, with the book going for sale on Feb. 3, 2026, and Ohtani will be using the sales of his book to support local animal rescue non-profits.
