First rehab appearances on Sunday for Glasnow (Oklahoma City) and García (Rancho Cucamonga). Also, home run and stolen base games for De Paula, Ruíz, and James Outman.
Tyler Glasnow was wild in the first of what is expected to be at least three minor league rehab starts on Sunday, but got through two scoreless innings for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
The Dodgers right-hander, out since April 28 with shoulder inflammation, pitched a perfect first inning but walked three in the second inning and three a wild pitch. But he got out of the frame unscathed, other than throwing more balls (26) than strikes (22) in his two innings.
Glad you could join us today, Tyler!

The other Dodgers pitcher to start a rehab assignment on Sunday was reliever Luis García, who pitched a scoreless first inning for Low-A Rancho Cucamonga. García, out since June 1 with a right adductor strain, pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout, and worked around a two-out ground-rule double.
Player of the day
Josue De Paula had all his talents on display on Sunday, reaching base three times and driving three runs for High-A Great Lakes. De Paula hit his 10th home run of the season, had an RBI single, walked, and stole three bases against Peoria.
This was the second game this season for De Paula with at least one home run and one steal. The three stolen bases tied a career best, set way back on July 12, 2022 in the Dominican Summer League.
Those 10 home runs match his season total from 2024, which was split between both Class-A levels, in 192 fewer plate appearances. His power has flourished this season in his second go-around with Great Lakes, without sacrificing any plate discipline.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
Esteury Ruíz, James Outman, and Ryan Ward powered the Comets’ win over the Round Rock Express (Rangers).
Ruíz hit two home runs, stole his 35th base of the season, scored three runs, and drove in three. Outman also had a home and and steal as part of his four-hit game, and Ward had three hits.
Oklahoma City spread its offense over five consecutive innings, while Round Rock consolidated its scoring into a seven-run fourth inning against Landon Knack, the na singly tally in the ninth off Logan Boyer.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers managed only four singles and three walks in a shutout loss to the Midland RockHounds (A’s).
After a dominant 7⅓ scoreless innings with only one hit allowed on Tuesday, Chris Campos had a short outing apparently by design on four days rest, with two strikeouts in 2⅔ scoreless innings. He allowed two hits in the first inning, and might have given up a run had he not alertly fielded a short tapper up the third base line himself and tagged out a runner trying to score.
Campos at 62⅔ innings has pitched the second-most innings among Dodgers minor leaguers this season. Leader Patrick Copen (63⅓ innings) and third-place Christian Zazueta (60⅔ innings) are slated to start on Tuesday for Tulsa and Rancho Cucamonga, respectively
High-A Great Lakes
De Paula keyed a pair of three-run innings and the Loons held on for a one-run win over the Peoria Chiefs (Cardinals).
Kendall George, Zyhir Hope, Wilman Diaz, Joe Vetrano, and Jordan Thompson also stole a base on Sunday for Great Lakes.
Maddux Bruns had a solid second start back from the injured list, one week after his first. After throwing 2⅓ innings last Sunday he stretched out to three innings on this Sunday, allowed a run on two seeing-eye singles and two walks, and struck out four, including his final three batters faced.
Low-A Rancho Cucamonga
Jose Meza and Jaron Elkins led the way in the Quakes’ win over the Lake Elsinore Storm (Padres). Meza homered with two singles, drove in three, and stole two bases. Elkins doubled twice, scored twice, and stole two bases, giving him a California League-leading 42 steals in 62 games this season.
Sunday was a bullpen game for Rancho Cucamonga after García’s rehab frame. Domingo Geronimo and Nicolas Cruz eached pitched two scoreless innings.
Arizona Complex League
No game in the desert on Sunday, but Garrett McDaniels pitched in his first game since rejoining the Dodgers on Saturday, pitching a scoreless inning to start the ACL Dodgers’ game against the Reds at Camelback Ranch. The 25-year-old left-hander allowed a single and struck out a batter.
McDaniels was a Rule 5 Draft pick of the Angels in December, and was sent back to the Dodgers on June 14. Prior to this season, McDaniels’ three innings in Double-A Tulsa was his only experience above Class A.
Transactions
Triple-A: Bobby Miller was placed on the 7-day injured list retroactive to Friday, after one of his best starts of the season with seven strikeouts and one unearned run allowed in five innings last Wednesday. Left-hander Jose Hernandez, another former Rule 5 pick who eventually found his way back to the Dodgers, was released by the Dodgers after a 4.94 ERA, 34 walks, and 18 walks in 27⅓ innings for the Comets this season.
