Four runs in the first inning dug too deep of a hole for Oklahoma City in a 6-4 loss to the Salt Lake Bees (Angels).
That four-run first inning came in the first Triple-A inning for Jerming Rosario, the 22-year-old right-hander who was called up from Tulsa earlier in the day. Rosario walked his first four batters and a double to his first five batters.
As bad as that beginning was, Rosario had a great recovery after that, allowing only two singles and two more walks to get through five innings, and didn’t allow any more than those four runs in the first inning. He struck out five.
That allowed Oklahoma City to mount a comeback of sorts. The plated three runs on four hits in the fourth inning, including a triple by Ryan Ward and doubles by James Outman and Alex Freeland.

Salt Lake padded their lead with two more runs in the seventh inning off Kevin Gowdy, which meant Freeland’s solo home run in the ninth — his third straight game with a home run — only pulled Oklahoma City to within two.
Rosario was the 52nd different pitcher used by Oklahoma City this year, and their 32nd different pitcher to start a game.
Transactions
Triple-A: Right-hander Ben Casparius was called up to the Dodgers, and Zach Logue was optioned. Jerming Rosario was promoted from Tulsa.
