The hero is returning.

Miguel Rojas, the defensive wizard who hit one of the most important home runs in Dodger World Series history, is coming back in 2026 on a one-year deal.

He said on Instagram on Wednesday that it will be his final Major League season as a player. It will be his fifth season as a Dodger and the 13th of his Major League career.

“I’m honored to finish my career with the Dodgers,” he said.

In the 36-year-old infielder (he turns 37 on Feb. 24), the Dodgers are bringing back a versatile infielder (he can play all four infield positions) with a sterling defensive reputation, a leader who has been an extension of the coaching staff on the field and a player coming off consecutive solid offensive seasons.

He batted .262/.318/.397/.715 with seven home runs and 25 extra-base hits in 114 regular-season games in 2025. He appeared in eight postseason games, including starts in Games 6 and 7 of the World Series. His one-out, score-tying home run in the ninth inning in Game 7 of the World Series off Toronto closer Jeff Hoffman propelled the Dodgers to a 5–4 victory and their ninth World Series championship. The homer tied the score 4–4 at the time.

Rojas won the organization’s Roy Campanella Award for the second year in a row — an honor voted on by Dodger players and coaches and given to the team’s most inspirational player. His influence and guidance helped Mookie Betts make a successful transition from right field to shortstop, and he has been a vocal leader on and off the field.

Rojas was a Gold Glove Award finalist as a utility player. He appeared at four different positions in 2025 and had five defensive runs saved at second base. He hit .295/.363/.516/.879 against left-handed pitching.

The Venezuela native made his Major League debut on June 6, 2014, with the Dodgers. The 2026 season will complete the circle.
