The Dodgers added to their outfield with the signing of free agent Michael Conforto on December 10, 2024, for one year and $17 million.
During his two seasons with the rival Giants, Conforto was hampered by his home park, hitting just .225/.308/.353 with an 88 wRC+ at Oracle Park in San Francisco and .248/.332/.471 with a 119 wRC+ on the road. In 2024, he hit 17 of his 20 home runs on the road.
Conforto turns 32 in March.
The veteran Conforto gives the Dodgers another left-handed bat, which was a sore spot among Los Angeles outfielders in 2024. All Dodgers left-handed-hitting outfielders — a group led mostly by Jason Heyward and James Outman — hit a combined .176/.251/.298 with a 57 wRC+ last season.
Conforto receives an $8.5 million signing bonus as part of his contract, with $6.5 million paid on January 15, 2025, and $2 million paid on December 1. His salary for the 2025 season is $8.5 million.
