A quick look at Sunday’s box score pretty much says it all:

Oh sure, both teams had six hits, including a monster 411-foot lead off home run into Citi Field’s second deck in right-center field by Dodgers international superstar Shohei Ohtani on the second pitch of the game, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts‘ team had a grand total of two hits (both singles) after the fourth inning. They also had seven strikeouts.

With the loss and wins by the Giants and Padres on Sunday, the Dodgers lead in the NL West is now 1.0 and 2.0 games respectively – but hey, “It’s still early,” as some often say following a disappointing loss.
