Prior to Monday’s ugly 6-4 Dodgers loss to the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park, the team met with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office, where the Commander and Chief presented each player and staff member a commemorative Presidential coin. As our Commander and Chief did so, he shook the hand of each Dodger player and staff member.
As is normal when shaking someone’s hand, Trump would briefly touch the upper right arm of the person whose hand he was shaking with his left hand. Upon doing so with international superstar Shohei Ohtani, President Trump said: “Gee, I’m used to shaking the jelly arms of politicians. You guys are like steel.”

The one bright moment in what was clearly the Dodgers worst game of the season was a third inning two-run home run by the aforementioned Ohtani to tie the game at 2-2. It was the 30-year-old Oshu, Japan native’s fourth home run of the 12-game-old season, tying him with Teoscar Hernández and one behind team-leader Tommy Edman‘s five.
