I’ll keep it short and to the point:

Ohtani‘s monster 454-foot blast into the Right Field Pavilion came with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning on an 85.9-MPH sweeper from Reds right-handed reliever Connor Phillips. It was the 31-year-old Oshu, Japan native’s second home run of the game in the Dodgers eventual 10-5 win over the NL Central third-place Reds. His first was only a 375-footer to right on the fourth pitch of the of the bottom of the first inning, a 100.4-MPH four-seam fastball from Reds starting right-hander Hunter Greene, to give the NL West Champs a very early 1-0 lead.
“It was a really hard pitch to hit but I felt like I reacted pretty well and I’m glad I was able to score, help the team score early,” Ohtani said postgame of his first-inning leadoff solo shot through interpreter Will Ireton.
In addition to Ohtani’s two round-trippers on Tuesday, Dodgers right fielder Teoscar Hernández also homered twice, with Dodgers second baseman Tommy Edman adding a solo shot to right immediately following Teo’s three-run blast to left in the bottom of the third.

Don’t stop now, boys!
Play Ball!
