The Dodgers will come out of the 2025 All-Star break as the National League West Division leaders with a 58-39 record and a 5.5-game lead over the second place San Diego Padres. That said, there is zero room for Dodgers manager Dave Roberts‘ team to let up even slightly:

The Dodgers will kick off the second half as the best team in the National League and are only one game back of the 59-38 Detroit Tigers as the best team in all of baseball. But make no mistake about it, the NL West second-place San Diego Padres, third-place San Francisco Giants, and even the fourth-place Arizona Diamondbacks and distant last-place Colorado Rockies will be doing everything in their power to prevent the Dodgers from repeating as NL West, League, and World Series champions.
As for the 95th edition of the popular Mid-Summer Classic, it ended in a 6-6 tie after nine innings, forcing a first-ever Home Run Derby-style swing-off to determine the game winner, with each league sending predetermined players who were given three swings to try to hit a home runs in the elimination-style format. In the end, it was Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber besting Tampa Bay slugger Jonathan Adanda four jacks to three, including a monster 461-foot blast to right-center that was clocked at 109-mph off the bat.

Although the National League won the All-Star Game in 2023, they lost 10 of the previous 11 before their swing-off win on Tuesday.
“We finally beat these guys. They seemed to have our number over the last decade,” Roberts told reporters postgame.

Although he only faced two batters in the top of the second inning, future first-ballot Hall of Fame Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw retired both, including a five-pitch called strikeout of Toronto Blue Jays infielder Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on a nasty 86.9-mph slider.

The Dodgers resume regular-season play against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday at Dodger Stadium with a scheduled 7:10 PM PDT start time.
