Kudos to the Dodgers, sweeping the San Diego Padres was huge!
But, Dodgers fans should somewhat temper their enthusiasm considering the uncharacteristic role-reversal of the two teams.
Short version: The Padres played like the Dodgers had performed since the first of July, while the Dodgers played like everyone expected them to play all season.

(SportsNet LA)
Dodgers pitching was terrific, timely hitting by the offense, and perhaps most importantly the defense stepped up big time. The Padres ran themselves out of innings, their defense dropped fly balls, muffed ground balls, poor outfield throws, etc., and their pitching liberally gave Dodgers a plethora of bases-on-balls.
Love getting the brooms out for the sweep, but the Dodgers must continue to play Dodgers baseball for the remainder of 2025 — starting tonight against the Colorado Rockies.
Go Dodgers!
