It’s something that we hear often this time of year:
“Spring Training games are meaningless games,”
and
“It’s still early.”
But what’s ironic is that you rarely (if ever) hear it from fans of teams that are atop their respective Spring Training leagues, be it the Grapefruit League or the Cactus League.
By the same token, you often hear it from fans of teams that are at or near the bottom of their respective Spring Training leagues
The Los Angeles Dodgers are not atop the 2025 Cactus League standings:
