Since returning from the Injured List on May 5, 32-year-old Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández‘s wRC+ (FanGraph’s weighted runs created) is 82, which is 18% below the Major League average and a full 50% below his 2024 performance. Only on occasion since his return has Teoscar demonstrated his power and ability to drive in big runs.
In the field, there is no way to sugar coat the fact that Teoscar’s right field defense has deteriorated from below average to among the worst in all of baseball. Keep in mind that advanced stats do not account for all of the misplays and seemingly indifferent pursuits of base hits that turn singles into doubles and doubles into triples. Fans have become accustomed to seeing balls fall in front of Hernández as he lopes in from his right field position, failing to dive or slide to make plays.

If injured, Teoscar should go on the IL until fully healed and able to play the game at 100%.
If not injured, Teoscar owes it to his teammates and fans to show up, suit up, and play every game to the best of his ability.
Go Dodgers.
