In Dodgers minor league action on Tuesday, there were a couple of four-hit games, Patrick Copen was good, Bobby Miller was not, and there was a stroll around the bases for an entire team, again!
Player of the day:
Patrick Copen pitched his thirteenth consecutive game in which he has given up two or fewer earned runs, a streak in which he has averaged over five innings per start. In eighteen starts this season, he has yet to give up more than three earned runs, and has given up two earned runs or less in sixteen of them. Walks have been Copen’s only kryptonite, but he has kept his walk total to two in each of his last three starts, a noted improvement after walking 20 batters in 23 innings during his five starts in June. Copen is ranked as the Dodgers’ 28th-best prospect by MLB Pipeline.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
Hunter Feduccia had a four-hit game, and the Comets produced seventeen hits in beating the Reno Aces 13-8. Six Oklahoma City hitters had at least two hits, and every player in the lineup scored at least one run, a rare feat just accomplished on Sunday by Low-A Rancho Cucamonga. Bobby Miller had another ineffective outing for the Comets, getting charged with six runs on eight hits and four walks in four and two-thirds innings. Ryan (no re-) Ward had two hits and two RBIs giving the 27-year-old never-had-a-major-league-at-bat slugger a baseball universe-leading 89 RBIs.

Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a passed ball to break a 1-1 tie, leading to a 2-1 win over the Springfield Cardinals. Copen pitched five innings, giving up one run on four hits, striking out seven. Antonio Knowles struck out the side in the ninth inning to chalk up his ninth save. Kyle Nevin, Phil Nevin’s son, had two hits, and for the year at multiple levels has posted a hitting line of .305/.399/.461, with an impressive 35 RBIs in 153 plate appearances.

High-A Great Lakes
Kendall George had a four-hit game as the Great Lakes Loons defeated the Beloit Sky Carp 7-4. George added three stolen bases and now has 48 on the season. Logan Wagner hit a two-run homer, and Elijah Hainline, batting fifth in the Loons lineup, drove in two runs.
