Emmet Sheehan inched closer to a much-needed major league return, going three-plus innings in his rehab start on Saturday night for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Here’s what happened in the rest of the Dodgers minor leagues on Saturday.
Player of the day
Payton Martin pitched 5⅓ scoreless innings to win the second game of Saturday’s impromptu doubleheader for High-A Great Lakes. The right-hander struck out four and walked around a pair, working around two hits as well.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
Oklahoma City scored twice in the eighth and once in the ninth to beat the Reno Aces (D-backs). Esteury Ruiz walked, stole second base, and scored the winning run on cash Chuckie Robinson’s walk-off single in the ninth inning.

Robinson, fresh off of his three days on the 40-man roster in the last week, had three hits, including a double, and a walk on the night.
Nick Frasso and Jose Hernandez each pitched two scoreless innings in relief, with four strikeout for Hernandez.
Edgardo Henriquez continued his return from a broken left foot by allowing two runs in his lone inning on Saturday. He struck out a pair, but allowed a single, triple, and sacrifice fly in the sixth inning to score two runs in the fourth appearance on his rehab assignment.
Double-A Tulsa
Two home runs off Jared Karros in the fifth inning turned the tide in the Drillers’ loss to the Amarillo Sod Poodles (D-backs). Karros had the longest start of his career at 6⅓ innings and walked none against six strikeouts, which was important after nearly as many walks (14) as strikeouts (15) in his previous six starts. But he allowed six runs (five earned), including a third home run allowed, in the seventh inning, to push his ERA to 7.08 on the season.
High-A Great Lakes
The Loons got two for the price of one on Saturday by beating the South Bend Cubs twice by the same two-one score.
The first game Saturday was a resumption of Friday’s suspended game. Great Lakes held a 2-1 lead after four innings when play was stopped, and that’s how that game ended as well. Christian Romero retired his first 12 batters faced on Saturday before giving up a single to open the ninth inning. He ended with three strikeouts and a walk in his 4⅓ scoreless innings in relief for the win, and Robinson Ortiz got the final two outs for the save.
Zyhir Hope doubled twice in the first game, hitting one on Friday and the other after play resumed Saturday.
Josue De Paula had an RBI double and walk in the second game, and singled in the first game. He stole a base in each game.
Low-A Rancho Cucamonga
Six runs in the 10th inning off Myles Caba and Domingo Geronimo lifted the San Jose Giants over the Quakes.
Sterling Patick struck out six and walked one in his four-inning start, with one run allowed.
First baseman Jose Meza homered for Rancho Cucamonga.
