On Thursday, multiple sources reported that soon-to-be (on August 26) 27-year-old Dodgers right-hander Brusdar Graterol, who is recovering from November 14, 2024 right shoulder labrum surgery, would not return to action for the remainder of the 2025 season, as was initially hoped:

This on X.com from longtime LA Times Dodgers beat writer Mike DiGiovanna:

As noted in the numerous replies to DiGiovanna’s tweet, and is often the case with such news on social media, it was followed with unconfirmed reports (i.e. rumors and speculation) that the hard-throwing Calabozo, Venezuela native’s career was over. Fortunately, at least at this point in time, there has been nothing to substantiate these unconfirmed reports (i.e. rumors and speculation) on social media or on the Dodgers official website.
Graterol, who was initially signed by the Minnesota Twins as an amateur free agent on August 29, 2014 and traded to the Dodgers on February 10, 2020 (along with Luke Raley and future considerations for Jair Camargo, Kenta Maeda and cash), posted a 10-8 record and an excellent 2.69 ERA during his five seasons with the Dodgers (178 games/five starts), with 138 strikeouts and 40 walks.
Although Graterol’s future with the Dodgers (and the game itself) remain uncertain, it is impossible not to wish the very best for the extremely popular and energetic right-hander.
