Yoshinobu Yamamoto was an MLB selection to the NL All-Star roster as starting pitcher. Because he is starting on Saturday, July 13 in San Francisco, he will be inelligible to pitch in the All-Star Game. Reds lefty Andrew Abbott was named as a roster replacement.
Clayton Kershaw was selected by MLB commissioner Rob Manfred as a “legend pick” for the game, the 11th All-Star nod fo Kershaw, most in Dodgers franchise history.
