Dodgers international superstar Shohei Ohtani‘s third-inning two-run home run against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday was his 48th of the season. This, along with his 47th and 48th stolen bases against the Chicago Cubs on September 11, puts him two away from 50-50 in both categories, which no player in MLB history has ever done.
The burning question on every Dodgers (and baseball) fan’s mind is: With only 11 games remaining in the 2024 regular season, can he do it?
“No pressure, just trying to maintain quality at-bats regardless of the situation, something I’ve been trying to do over the course of the entire season,” Ohtani answered through an interpreter when asked if he’s feeling any pressure to make 50-50.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts apparently thinks otherwise:
As Nike would say…
