Konami Digital Entertainment announced that eBaseball
: MLB PRO SPIRIT, a completely new mobile game with licenses from Major League Baseball (MLB) and MLB Players, Inc., is available today.
“I am proud to be the cover athlete for the new MLB game, eBaseball: MLB PRO SPIRIT,” said Shohei Ohtani.
“Playing in MLB is a dream come true, so I’m excited that fans can experience this realistic game and feel more connected to baseball. Players who participate in the launch campaign in the game get a chance to add my player card to their team, so please check it out when you have a chance.”
The history of KONAMI’s baseball video games spans more than 30 years, beginning with the first entry of the PAWAPURO series in 1994.
In 2004, KONAMI released its first entry in the Professional Baseball Spirits series in Japan, titled “Professional Baseball Spirits 2004,” a baseball simulation game that provides a realistic depiction of the sport.
This year’s release of eBaseball: MLB PRO SPIRIT invites players to experience the world of MLB anytime, across 10 countries and regions, on iOS and Android devices.
“We are excited to partner with MLB and MLB Players, Inc. to produce a one-of-a-kind game in PRO SPIRIT,” said Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. President Naoki Morita.
“Our collaboration with the two most vital organizations for America’s favorite pastime will allow us to create an authentic experience for baseball fans across the globe.”
eBaseball: MLB PRO SPIRIT features all 30 MLB teams, their home stadiums, as well as active MLB players, including KONAMI baseball game ambassador Shohei Ohtani. eBaseball: MLB PRO SPIRIT centers on collecting and training a roster of real MLB professional athletes to create the strongest team and compete against rivals to win the championship.
To commemorate today’s launch, an in-game campaign will be hosted to give players a chance to sign Ohtani to their team. Players can get Ohtani’s player card and different items to boost their team’s effectiveness.
eBaseball: MLB PRO SPIRIT is a free-to-play title that will include in-game purchasable items.
