Following the Dodgers dominating 7-3 win over the Detroit Tigers in front of a Dodger Stadium crowd of 51,788 on Saturday evening, the popular baseball statistics site OptaSTATS posted this on X.com:
Three of those seven historic Dodgers runs came on solo home runs by Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman (his second) in the bottom of the first inning, Dodgers catcher Will Smith (his first) in the bottom of the sixth, and second baseman Tommy Edman (his third) in the bottom of the seventh. Freeman also had a RBI double in the bottom of the seventh.
The other Dodgers runs came on a second-inning double down the right field line by Dodgers left fielder Michael Conforto on which Dodgers center fielder Andy Pages ran through third base coach Dino Ebel‘s stop sign (don’t say nothin’), and a fifth-inning two-run double down the left field line by Dodgers right fielder Teoscar Hernández.
Don’t nobody say nothin’ – although I’m guessing Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had something to say to Pages (which probably also included a fine), as this was not the first time the 24-year-old La Habana, Cuba native has done exactly this.
