In a move that was pretty much expected, the Dodgers annouced late Sunday morning that they released utility infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor. But perhaps what wasn’t expected is that the team outrighted the 34-year-old Virginia Beach, VA native and fifth-round draft pick in 2012 by the Seattle Mariners out of the University of Virginia as opposed to designating him for assignment, meaning that he is no longer a member of the Dodgers organization in any capacity.

Although a longtime favorite of many, CT3 was slashing a less-than-steller .200/.200/.257/.457 with four home runs and 23 RBIs in the 28 games he appeared in with the Dodgers this season.

The move allowed the Dodgers to activate 30-year-old utility infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman from the 10-day injured list for right ankle inflammation. On the season, Edman is slashing .252/.295/.523/.818, with eight home runs and 24 RBIs entering play on Sunday.
The entire staff at ThinkBlueLA wishes nothing but the very best to CT3 and his family.
